This is the single most important block of text on a gun show site, and it can't be boilerplate. Federal law requires licensed dealers (FFLs) to run a background check on every firearm transfer, and the rules on who counts as "engaged in the business" of dealing have tightened in recent years. State law then varies enormously — permit-to-purchase requirements, waiting periods, whether private transfers must go through an FFL, and how long-gun and handgun rules differ. Because the shows here run across NC, OH and PA, the rules are not the same at every venue. Have your actual show policy written or reviewed by an attorney who practises firearms law in each state, state it plainly on every show page, and update it when the law changes. Most shows require all firearms to be unloaded and secured (commonly zip-tied) at the door, no loose ammunition in the hall, and no handling of a firearm without the vendor's permission. Spell out your real rules here: what's checked at entry, what's not permitted inside, your policy on carrying, on minors, on photography, and on bringing a firearm in to sell or trade. Attendees read this before they load the truck, so being specific saves everyone a wasted trip — and being consistent with what your door staff actually enforce is what keeps the show safe.
